A Reflection Note This semester I have studied more about academic writing. This course gave me an opportunity to practice in writing, that is actually a necessary thing in student’s life. I have learned more about ways of writing an essay. I was able to consult with my groupmates on different important topics, which is in my opinion, very useful to hear what other people think. We were not discussing simple topics, but we were able to speak about culture, art, education, plagiarism, etc. In our classes we could write for and against essays, opinion essays, which is my favorite. With the help of this course we have improved not only our writing skills, but we have also developed our knowledge of modern world. I have read an article, called How to protect your digital privacy from new Christmaspresents . I think that it is a topical subject nowadays. Our digital privacy is not something that should be left behind somewhere. Alex Hern wrote an article about ways of avoiding useless commercial, so I have learned that I should be careful and protect my digital privacy. In fact, I wanted to know more about this theme, and that is why I started reading it. The author gave 3 ways of protecting your privacy. He advised to don’t give up rights that you don’t need to. In my opinion, it is very important to really read what the commercial or a company offers you. To tell you the truth, I usually just hit the bottom “yes”, I don’t read what is written. Useful app I used an interesting app "Memrize" last week and I wanted to share with you my results and opinion. Monday - I chose a course that helps you to learn more words. Then I was supposed to learn 3 new words : a department, a diamond, to present. Tuesday - I was supposed to know previous words and learn new : to report, to represent, to contain. Wednesday - I did not use the app. Thursday - I was working not only with words, but with short sentences which included previous words. Friday - I was working with sentences and previous words again. As a result, user learn new words, work with them and then he fixes them in his mind. In my opinion, this app is very useful to those, who want to add new words to his vocabulary.
